- Atomic, molecular and optical physics

- Electron – atom collisions

- Applications of Laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) and Laser induced fluorescence (LIF)

- Structural, morphological and optical characterization of rare earth doped nanopowders

- Optical materials

- Luminescent materials
